We've Expanded!
Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail
Planning is a critical part of everything we do. This service we offer provides you with a customized software tool to capture your facility needs and help you continuously improve budget predictability for public entities, like K12 school districts.
Reduce Before You Produce
We provide a contracting service to reduce your energy usage and produce on-site energy. We replace your old, inefficient building systems with newer, more energy efficient systems, such as HVAC, lighting, and building envelope. We use an agreement that guarantees the energy savings will cover the cost of the improvements over a period of time. From there, we recommend different renewable energy options illustrating how each system performs. We recommend renewable after your systems have an adequate level of efficiency — because it does not make good, economic sense to produce electricity on-site while at the same time wasting energy with inefficient systems.
Engineering & Commissioning – Lowering the Total Cost of Ownership
We provide engineering and commissioning services for the projects we install, as well as projects installed by others. We believe the bookends of a project are just as important as the project itself; components like design, engineering, and final commissioning can be overlooked as “fluff” costs. We understand that by focusing on these efforts, we can reduce the overall Total Cost of Ownership.
Since 2016, Upper 90 has been an independent, locally-owned energy service company (ESCO) in South Central Wisconsin. Upper 90 has evolved during this time, beginning with a strict focus on LED lighting solutions. We have expanded our offerings to include all types of facility and infrastructure improvements. Our three core principles have propelled Upper 90 to the forefront of the energy efficiency contracting industry in Wisconsin.
We also offer flexible contracting options, where the costs associated with construction risk can be absorbed and mitigated by other parties—instead of entirely by one party (Upper 90). This flexibility reduces the overall project cost and is not typically offered by larger firms.
The most successful projects have a flexible approach to funding. Often times, the funding for a comprehensive project may come from several sources, such as:
We encourage our clients to work closely with public financial firms such as Robert W. Baird, PMA Financial Network, Ehlers, etc. to accomplish the best funding approach possible.
“Upper 90 was our partner all the way through, from project prioritization, grant writing and funding, to project completion. They even worked with my high school students on energy efficiency and solar. The best part is we are going to save a full teacher's salary - which is huge in our small district.”
Scott Anderson, 2018 Educator of the Year, Juda School District (Now in Evansville Community School District)
"I would recommend Upper 90 to someone else because they are easy to work with, great communication, and took a lot off my plate by taking care of all the paperwork!"
Jill Collins, Director of Business Services for the School District of Black River Falls
"If I made a phone call, they answered it. If we had a problem, they took care of it. If something wasn't right, they made it right. Everyone I had to deal with made us feel like we were the only ones that mattered. We had one issue where something wasn't what we expected-our fault not theirs. They made a complete change at their cost to make sure we were satisfied."
Frank Wastlick, Buildings & Grounds, Ithaca School District
Sustainability may have become a bit of a 'buzz word', but when looking to the future, it is necessary for communities to include when preparing for the unexpected. What does it mean to be resilient?
The Clean Economy Coalition of Wisconsin (CECW) held their inaugural meeting March 29th, announcing the main objectives of the coalition and what those goals look like for the future of a greener state-wide economy.
Is your business ready for changes in energy infrastructure? Well, if you're located in the City of Madison, the time to make those changes is quickly approaching.
